Guangdong:Promoting the inheritance,innovation and development of TCM with high standards

Recently,the 2023 Guangdong Provincial Health Work Conference was held in Guangzhou.The meeting fully implemented the party`s 20th guiding principles,summarized the work of the past five years and 2022,studied and planned key work for the coming period and 2023,and proposed that we would focus on ten areas of work in 2023,including promoting the inheritance,innovation and development of TCM to a high standard.

The meeting proposed to accelerate the formation of a high-level TCM hospital group and build a number of national ‘flagship’ hospitals for traditional Chinese and western medicine.We will carry out a project to improve the capacity of grassroots TCM services,and build a number of TCM centers with distinctive features and improved connotations.We will promote the Gehong TCM Talent program,carry out the project of TCM teachers,inherit the academic experience of a number of provincial famous old TCM experts,and train a number of key TCM talents at the grassroots level.We will build national and provincial TCM research platforms and research institutions,and strengthen dinical research on TCM.We will carry out pilot projects to build classic TCM wards,and select and promote the first batch of hospital preparations called “Lingnan prescriptions’.A series of activities of ‘Traditional Chinese Medicine Lecture Hall’ were held to build a TCM culture publicity and education base.
